Story
Abaana is aiming to lock up 20 people , with each person seeking to raise £1,000 bail, in order to reach a target of £20,000, to build a new nursery school at Lweza Primary School in Uganda.
According to the UN, there are 93 million children around the world, who do not have access to education. 80% of these children live in Sub-Saharan Africa, in countries like Uganda.
Abaana is working with 13 primary schools in Uganda, with the aim of providing education to over 4,000 children.
Education is widely seen as one of the main tools to give Ugandan children the ability to break free from the poverty trap and ultimately save lives.
The Lock Up will be raising money so that Abaana can replace the existing nursery with a brand new building.
