Story
70 years ago this year, nearly 1,000,000 Allied soldiers landed in Normandy over two months to participate in the liberation of Europe.
The first dwelling they released from German occupation was the Café Gondrée at Pegasus Bridge, near Caen, liberated at 00h20 on June 6th. Eighty days later, on August 25th, the surrender of Paris was agreed. France was free.
To commemorate these events and to pray for France and Europe, we will walk the 212 kilometres from Pegasus to Paris between June Europe.
Our funding goal this year is to raise £100,000 to complete the purchase of Bethanie, our training and prayer base in Normandy.
Our intrepid walkers will:
- Cover 35 kilometres (22 miles) per day.
- Pray as they go, stopping each morning and evening to pray for the places their feet touch.
- Tell the world, through blogs and social media, of their adventure.
- Each raise a minimum of £1000 towards this great cause.
