Story
Hi guys
In just over 2 weeks I'll be hosting The Percy Hedley Cup, which is taking place at Longhirst Golf Club on Friday 29th May.
This is my 3rd year of running this special golf event and have been blown away by all of your support from the beginning, where we have raised around £25,000 for such an amazing cause. This incredible support has helped fund a specialist sensory room at the Percy Hedley College in Newcastle which opened in 2014. All proceeds from this years event, will be going towards Percy Hedley's "Splash Appeal" helping to raise £1M, to build a state of the art hydrotherapy pool accessible to thousands of disabled people in and around our region.
This page is intended to offer an opportunity for those off you who may not be able to take part in the day itself, but would like to donate to this wonderful and inspiring charity; The Percy Hedley Foundation, based in Newcastle upon Tyne - www.percyhedley.org.uk
As some of you may well know, my family have a great deal of gratitude and admiration for the foundation as my brother John James Atthey attended Percy Hedley for many years. He benifited hugely from the truly wonderful facilities he was able to access and the amazing care which he received before sadly passing away in 2008.
The Percy Hedley Foundation meets the needs of disabled people with cerebral palsy, communication impairments, sensory impairments and complex learning, social care and therapeutic needs, who require specialist individual programmes to develop their independence, believing in achievement for all.
However, fundraising events such as these are vital in continuing such provision for these inspirational young people.
So, please, please, please donate generously, to this truly amazing charity, which provides so many opportunites and makes a real difference to the lives of so many people and their families.
Finally, just wanted to say a massive thank you to Simon Bibby who helped organise the 1st 2 x events. Unfortunately, due to a heavy workload with his other business interests, Simon's not been able to get involved this time around. That said I'm delighted he'll be out on the course playing this year & supporting this great cause....Cheers Simon.
Thank you
Richard Atthey
