Story
We must raise £160,000 if the sound of Church bells is to continue to be heard in Richmond N Yorks. Movement in our unstable 2 tier wooden bell frame is making ringing difficult and stressing the 14th century medieval tower. The poorly designed wooden frame and bells need replacing with a single storey iron frame if ringing is to continue. We have already raised over £100,000 but still have a way to go.
To raise money, 10 of us will be cycling from Richmond Surrey to Richmond N Yorks - two of us (both Glenyses) on a tandem. We will be cycling through London, Cambridge, Stamford, Lincoln over the Humber Bridge to York and then Richmond. We will be ringing at churches abbeys and cathedrals all along the way, The distance is 320 miles. Make our pain pay! Please sponsor us.
