The Smile Malawi Children's home has to regularly collect firewood, bags of maize, rice and other food, bricks, cement and other heavy goods. We are a long way from the trading centre and totally rely on our very old pick up truck to do this for us. It was unfortunately involved in a nasty accident earlier this year which was not our fault but we have had to pay for the repairs. We cannot afford comprehensive insurance as it would be over £1000 per annum. I am appealing for donations to cover the cost of the repairs which are nearing completion but have left us very short of funds for normal running costs. Anything will help but the total bill is £2000. You can see the transformation in the photos and we really need to complete the work to get the truck back to work for Christmas.
