Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 4th June I am going to take part in a sponsored walk from my home in Berrow to Brean, along Brean Down and back home again (a distance of approximately 14 miles).
PIFTA is a charity set up by my son Jamie and his daughter Charn. For the past 6 years, they have been organising events and fundraising in order to raise awareness and funds for the needy people of The Gambia, West Africa. They both annually travel to the region and personally help as many people as they can. There are many aspects of the charity, including supporting the education of needy students in a very basic secondary school in Penyem. To date they have funded 187 years of education for students who wouldn't otherwise get the opportunity as their families simply can’t afford it. They have also set up a penpal scheme with the school, help business start ups as well as being responsible for the wellbeing of needy families and people they come across. More details can be found on www.facebook.com/pifta101.
It costs about £30 a year to fund a child’s education and I’m hoping to raise a significant sum. Education is their only way out of subsistence living or poverty. Please support me in this effort and help make a difference today.
