Story
A PORTION OF FUNDS RAISED BY THE SOUTH COAST WILL BE DONATED TO SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOLS IN HAMPSHIRE TO PURCHASE SENSORY EQUIPTMENT, EDUCATIONAL TOYS, GAMES AND OTHER ITEMS ON THE SCHOOL'S WISH LIST.
Mad Hatter's Charity became a registered charity in 2009 providing fun days out for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in the Midlands area. Not only do we want to continue providing days out giving less fortunate youngsters something to look forward to, enabling them to make new friends and have new experiences — so far some 10,000 children have benefitted — but we feel there are more areas where Mad Hatters can assist.
Subject to funds being available, we see a need to work on appeals for equipment for 'special needs' children i.e. sensory equipment, wheelchairs and therapy cycles to increase children’s independence and quality of life. At present we have links with over 90 'special needs' schools in the Midlands and are regularly asked if we are able to provide specialist equipment for them. We have no paid fundraisers or committees and rely on local companies to help with appeals and fundraising events.
