Story
Pure 107.8FM has been Stockport's local radio station since September 2006.
We are a not-for-profit organisation. If you enjoy Pure 107.8FM please make a donation to help us.
We are part of the charity Pure Innovations we are committed to serving Stockport as a community broadcaster.
We do things differently to other radio stations. We are proud to serve and support Stockport and act as a valuable point of information to bring the community together.
Since 2007 we have been the official media partner of Stockport County with full match commentary of every Hatters first team game.
Working in partnership with our parent charity we support people with learning disabilities. Our weekly disability radio magazine show One Voice is put together by our clients who receive day care service delivered by qualified support workers and supported by professional radio producer.
Our Workskills in the Media course offers clients with autism and similar learning difficulties the opportunity to get a recognised qualification and work placements to help them to get ready for employment.
A small team of broadcaster professionals support a large team of volunteers to make sure we are covering the whole of the community.
Our 'Total Access' community magazine shows are presented by volunteers from diverse areas within our community. They are:
- New Horizons, presented by local retired residents
- Stockport Reports, local current affairs
- One Voice, disability show
- Under The Rainbow, Gay, Lesbian, Trans & Bi community
Our specialist music programmes in the evening are presenter by passionate volunteers. Some of our shows are syndicated to radio stations in Canada and Australia.
A small donation to help us fund the work we do in the community would be gratefully received. We would also love to hear your comments on your community radio station.
