Almost half a million adults are sexually assaulted in England and Wales each year.
Rape Crisis Centres provide emotional support and information for victims of sexual violence, their families and friends. The charity not only supplies their centres with tools such as National Service Standards and national training, but they also represent their centres to the government and decision makers.
Other work Rape Crisis England and Wales does includes: lobbying for sustainable funding, raising awareness and understanding of sexual violence through partnership work and media, providing direct support and signposting to sexual violence survivors through e-mail and their website.
We think it is important to give funding so that Rape Crisis England and Wales can continue to support survivors of sexual violence at any time in their lives - by improving services for them, ensuring their centres can stay accessible to people, and working towards the elimination of sexual violence. Therefore, Millie and I have decided to do a sponsored 160ft tandem bungee jump, in order to raise money for this incredible charity. We are both petrified of heights, so this is quite something for us.
Your donation will be hugely appreciated, not just by us and the organisation, but the survivors and their journey to recovery. Thank you!
