Improve the quality of life and equality of opportunity for all disabled people in the South East by providing access to the sea.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, a new charity this year, but as always very close to my heart.  This time with the aim of giving access to water-based activity experiences for disabled people on board specially designed boats, for all ages and impairments - including those with profound and multiple learning disabilities - not just wheelchair users.

Wetwheels was conceived and founded by disabled yachtsman, Geoff Holt MBE. The Wetwheels family has grown to three boats (in Portsmouth, Jersey, and Hamble) and now they want to share the excitement of being on the water with disabled people in the South East.

Incredibly, 80 percent of current participants have never been on a boat before. When asked why, the reason given is that the opportunity had just not existed.

Please help them to build a new Wetwheels boat that will enrich the lives of thousands right where I first learned to sail.

We take disabled and disadvantaged people of all ages onto the water using our network of fully accessible powerboats. Through being on the water, beneficiaries have improved life-chances and increased opportunities to learn through their experiences. We aim to have many Wetwheels around the UK.
