The Everest Climbing Tower challenge has been confirmed for May 29 to mark the 60th Anniversary of the first confirmed ascent! We will be climbing the vertical height from base camp to summit on a climbing tower. 596 climbs required (6.5m) in 24hrs

The Training is going well with everybody embracing the prospect of the challenges ahead. PBs for deadlift in the gym and intense cardio sessions and slowly paving the way to success. Just need to confirm the dates for remaining challenges. Photos to follow!

In May 2011, Macsen was diagnosed with Leukaemia and was admitted to Sky Ward in the Children’s Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. He had lots of chemotherapy which made him feel pretty rough, he lost his hair, and he couldn’t go to school and it was hard for his friends to visit.

He had a bone marrow transplant in Bristol Children’s Hospital in November 2011 and he was isolated for weeks. Thankfully he  was well enough to come home for Christmas.

In the summer of 2012, Dreams & Wishes arranged a helicopter ride for Macsen and his family and he was allowed to fly it himself!   making it was the best summer ever for him and made up for having to spend a year in hospital.

Macsen was a very brave and courageous boy, who sadly died aged 11. He dealt with his leukaemia with stoicism and tolerance, in a way far more mature than his tender age. He kept his humour till the end and he will be missed forever.

He was so proud to be a Young Ambassador for Dreams and Wishes and his family are eternally grateful to the charity for giving them the opportunity to surprise and treat Macs when he needed it most.

Hopefully Macsen's story will continue to inspire others and support the amazing work done by Dreams and Wishes.

Macsen became the first ambassador for Dreams & Wishes and always showed great kindness to others and considered other people at all times. He was so supportive of the work of Dreams and Wishes, caring for children and their families.

At Macsen’s funeral, it was a very moving day but the strength of Macsens family was incredible and a credit to them. The love shone through as did the sunshine on a very cloudy day as the last goodbyes were said to Macsen.
