Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page set up in memory of Nicole.
Our beloved Nicole died on Sunday 26 July 2015.
A memorial celebration in Nicole's honour will be held on Monday 10 August 2015. Please email rememberingnicole@yahoo.com for details.
As many of you reading this will know, Nicole was diagnosed with a GBM brain tumour in February 2013. Almost immediately, she decided not only to live her life to the full but also to lend her not inconsiderable support to two particular charities.
Within a month, she joined the Brook 100 Club which was part of a four year appeal to celebrate Brook's 50th Birthday. It aimed to raise £100,000 each year, to support cutting edge and creative work within the field of sexual health and wellbeing.
Absolutely true to form, in Brook, Nicole chose an organisation of which many might steer clear. Brook offers free and confidential information to young people under 25 regarding their sexual health.
This is not a glamorous charity but Brook, according to its own website (www.brook.org.uk), "Has been putting young people's health and wellbeing first for 50 years, often swimming against the tide, but always putting young people front and centre."
Nicole loved both young people and those who swim against the tide. She specifically requested before she died that donations made in her name were to Brook rather than cancer charities (which she considered well funded). By giving to Brook, particularly if you usually would not, you truly are fulfilling Nicole's wishes. That would greatly please her!
