Bevan ward was where Richard and I first heard the words that no one wants
to hear. He was then told he could not go home and would likely be in hopsital for the first part of his treatment for 3 to 6 months. In fact he remained an in-patient in this ward for 5 months. 

I am sure that we all agree that this would be a daunting experience for
anyone and it was devastating for Richard and I and our young twins who were only 2 at the time. 

The staff at Bevan ward were amazing, they treated us like family and
tried to make the stay as comfortable as it could be given the circumstances.

He had a large airy room with many facilities you would not expect from an NHS hospital and care had been given to provide a private outside space which could be used for patients and their families to get some fresh air but away from crowds where patients would be vulnerable. All the 'additional' comforts such as garden chairs  were supplied by donations from previous patients and I would like to help Bevan ward to improve and maintian the outside space by raising money for furniture and plants to create a nicer environment for those going through a similar journey as we know how important it was to have this
space from our own experience.

This fundraising team is made up of many friends and family who have agreed to have fun and hold a fun event over the summer in Richards memory. 

We are aiming to raise £1,000 and Your donations can really help us
