We enhance the hospital services provided to ensure the best care can be given to all

Story

In 2015, Robbie Keville, aged 9, started his own charity - 'robbiesrally'. Family, friends and others have since organised many events to support the charity.

Importantly, 100% of any funds that you donate go direct to the charity. The events themselves are privately funded with contributions, if we can get them, from organisations wishing to help. For example, for robbiesrow, the kayak has been donated by Artemis Investment Management LLP. Very many thanks to Artemis.

'robbiesrehabilitation' is to be based at Southampton Hospital and will benefit children who are recovering from brain tumours by providing specialist staff to care for them as they struggle to rebuild their lives. Building on a fund of nearly £100,000, the charity is now poised to employ their first therapist for the next three years. By donating to 'robbiesrow', we will provide a unique home-visiting and outpatient service to approximately 25 children every year. We have chosen a very ambitious target of £28,000 for our upcoming expedition which matches the 0.6 WTE Band 7 salary of either a physio or occupational therapist.

Robbie's dad Mark and elder brother Harry will kayak from Tewitfield in Lancashire to Odiham in Hampshire between the 10th and 24th July via the inland waterways. They will be unsupported and sleeping on riverbanks and towpaths during the expedition. They will be covering an average of a marathon - 26.2 miles - every day for 15 days. Press coverage is guaranteed and C4 will be filming part of the trip for a programme to be aired in October. Let's hope they don't flake halfway!

Our intrepid kayakers will be pitching camp on the following days at about 5pm near the following pubs. Come and find us!
