Story
Our beloved Roger suddenly and unexpectedly collapsed at work and was rushed to St George's Hospital. Although technically called a stroke it was the worst possible kind. He had suffered a bleed in the brain stem and we were told it was rare for anyone to recover from this type of trauma. He was 43 years old and leaves behind his wife Maxine and their 2 children Luke and Molly. After 3 days at his bedside my sister was forced to make some of the toughest decisions a person has to make.
The team in the ICU dept at St George's were truly amazing and guided , supported and helped us all through what was an unbearable time. As a family and in his name, we want to help and support the General ICU fund at St George's as well as the Neurological Research fund and the Neurosurgery research fund and Different Stokes a charity run by stroke victims for stroke victims.
Roger was a no nonsense guy with an enormous heart and a wicked sense of humour. He coached/ managed the under 14 youth team for Molesey Juniors Football Club as well as being a handy man for just about all of Surrey. He had a ready smile and was always ready to help in any way he could. This has come as a massive shock to all who new him and by doing this we can do something positive and worthwhile in his name.
