Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have survived 2 car crashes (1982 and 2000) and more recently a nasty knock off my bicycle (not to mention the rollerskate accident at the age of 9 - head on collision with a concrete wall !).
I have been lucky and walked away each time. Not so with everybody.
I am all about healthy living and aim to live by example. I live a very active life and promote natural health as a career. I am a regular swimmer, have completed four triathlons and a 5 km swim from Gozo to Malta (for ASPIRE with SWIMTREK). ASPIRE is the Charity that supports people with spinal cord injuries.
I now feel ready to take on an even bigger challenge. Maddness did I hear you say ?
This, together with my history of accidents, is the reason for raising money for Aspire. I have created my own 'Tri-Continental Challenge'. Which comprises a Relay Channel Swim - Himalayan Trek to Everest Base Camp - Bike across Cuba .
Please look up ASPIRE.ORG.UK for more details of this charity
The 'ROMEY's Tri-Continenetal CHALLENGE' will take place between Summer 2011 and Spring 2012. My aim is to raise £10,000.
Leg 1 - Relay Swim English Channel - August 2011
Leg 2 - Himalayian Trek, Everest Base Camp - November 2111
Leg 3 - Cycle across Cuba - March 2012
Lake District Swim (group) - Buttermere and Crummock Water Sept 2012
Three Nations Swim - Porth Dinllaen (solo swim) Sept 2013, Isles of Scilly (group) August 2014, Loch Ness (relay) August 2015
What next ...
A warm swim for a change! But this time a race - which is a first for me. St Kitts to Nevis - 5km, March 2016.
Thank you for your generosity
