Text Romy55£1/£2/£5/£10 to 70070
Romy is two and a half years old and has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Meaning all her limbs are affected.
Never say never, Romy is already defying the experts!
Before we started fundraising we were told Romy would never walk, never use her hands, never talk or have any independence.
Due to your generosity Romy now has a special Tomcat Trike which enables Romy to ride around enjoying the great outdoors she loves so much.
We have been able to pay for Romy to start at the famous Footsteps Foundation in Oxfordshire. She is the youngest ever to be accepted. At Footsteps, Romy has been able to sit up unaided for longer periods each time, which we were told would never happen! She is now reaching with her hands too.
Also at footsteps Romy has started oral facial stimulation. Before this Romy's speech therapist told us she would NEVER talk, only eat puréed food and only drink from a bottle.
Happily, since footsteps facial therapy, Romy now drinks with a straw, eats biscuits and bread and is becoming more vocal as her face becomes more desensitised. She's a brave, tough little girl and with your help she's already achieving at 2 what we were told she never would. Unfortunately none of this is NHS funded.
We thank you all so much for helping her to achieve such improvements and appreciate all your fundraising efforts.
There's no overnight cure, it's a long battle, but Romy's quality of life is already dramatically improving
A huge thank you to the generosity of the Norwich football supporters and all contributors, please continue with your fundraising.
