As a group we are trying to fundraise for a trip to the Rosie May Home in Sri Lanka, where we are volunteering at the orphanage for 3 weeks next September.
We believe this charity is helping so many young girls..Here is some more about the charity:
The Rosie May Memorial Fund was founded in memory of 10 year old Rosie May who was murdered in 2003 and exists to give children a future that Rosie May was tragically denied.
“As we continue to struggle with the daunting prospect of facing a future without our little girl, it really does give us comfort to know that Rosie May has touched so many people’s hearts and that she will always be remembered through the lives of these inspirational and beautiful girls at the Rosie May home in Sri Lanka”.
The Rosie May Home is a unique and exciting concept, small and family orientated where sisters age 3 to 18 years are reunited and cared for by live-in house parents. This tranquil 3-acre site provides a safe and loving home for these vulnerable young girls and aims to give them back their childhood.
Our overseas volunteer programme simultaneously aims to give the children the opportunity to develop their English language skills and the volunteers an enriching and challenging experience both at the Rosie May Home and at our community projects in Sri Lanka.
