Story
It can be avoided. It can be stopped. It is not starvation in a far away continent, it is here, it is in our city. We can get rid of youth homelessness. We need your help, we need the pounds you would be spending on the coffee you have before work everyday and the pennies you drop on the floor when you are in a rush and they need you to talk about it, stop shying away. It is happening right now, right this second. They need you. The teenage mothers and their babies, the 16 year-old girl who has just started her period but had noone to go to and the 18 year old boy who has been a victim of domestic abuse and has nowhere to sleep tonight. NOONE should face homelessness alone. No exceptions. We live in the worlds 7th richest country, it is unacceptable.
We are doing 12 challenges during the course of the year to raise as much money for St Basil's, a charity that prevents youth homelessness by providing support and accommodation. Our activities will range from simple things like giving up on all social media and electronic technology for 201.6hours to running up Mt. Snowdon (all of our challenges will relate to the number of 2016)
We aim to continue this from January through to December and we are starting with living off £20.16 for a week at the end of January. This will be shared between the two of us and will only be food, this equates to £1.44 per day for all the food we eat which is around £10 less than the average in the West Midlands per day.
Let CHALLENGE 2016 begin
lots of love
