Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

It's hard enough running the Great North Run but it's harder still
carrying musical instruments 13.1 miles from the Start line to the
Finish.

That's exactly what our Run & Strum Team will be doing to raise
vital funds for Music Therapy though, as they take on the famous Half
Marathon this September.

It is well known that music can help
tackle disability and illness in children. What is less well known is
its effect on people living with dementia. Research increasingly
indicates music therapy helps to alleviate symptoms such as depression,
anxiety and agitation in people with dementia.
MHA has developed a ground-breaking music therapy programme
for its residents who live with dementia. It is the UK’s largest employer of music therapists, who work in our care homes.
This work is all funded through charitable donations – without the help
of our supporters, we would not be able to make lives better for people
living with dementia.

Donating
through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are
safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted

charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and
cutting costs for the charity.
