Story
Hello all and welcome to my JustGiving page.
I am one sixth of Moosey's Mad Marathon Men (MMMM for short).
My brothers friend Tom 'Moosey' Moulton tragically, and unexpectedly, passed away on the 27th July 2015, aged just 29 and although I only had the pleasure of meeting Moosey a few times he was a true hero.
As most of you know I’m a cold whether runner and definitely not a warm/day runner but when I heard about Moosey and what his friends were doing in his honour I knew I had to join them!
By sponsoring me you will be donating to the work of Southend YMCA and YMCA England, fundraising will be split 50/50.
As a group we will be raising money for three charities in total, to the much underfunded work of Epilepsy Research UK, and to continue Tom’s legacy at Southend YMCA to support homeless young people and for the national movement at YMCA England.
Tom suffered from epilepsy since he was a child but never allowed his condition to let him live anything but a full life. He never wanted to be treated differently and never made a fuss even when he’d been unwell. We want to help the underfunded work of Epilepsy Research UK, in the hope we may be able to support and assist the lives of those that suffer from it.
Housing and the issue of homelessness amongst vulnerable youngsters became a passion for Tom during his time working at Southend YMCA, he recognised the huge need in the area for suitable accommodation. He worked tirelessly to fundraise, increase awareness and housing provision for local young people.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add GiftAid to your donation if you are a UK taxpayer, it will add 25% to your donation at no extra cost.
