Story
On Monday 25th July, 2016, our beautiful and brave mum lost her battle to secondary breast cancer. Against the odds she endured a number of major operations and treatments living with the condition for seven years. She defied all predictions being given palliative care in March, 2010. During the very depths of her treatment, our mum remained so positive and inspired so many others living with the same difficulties. She always took the treatment offered to her, despite the disabling side effects that came with it.
Mum kept herself going to watch us; pass GCSEs and A-Levels, pass and fail driving tests, gain university degrees and first jobs, and most recently lived to see George obtain his place at Oxford Brookes University. She even managed to take a trip to IKEA to help George choose his homeware for university in her final six weeks. Demonstrating her selfless attitude and the care shown towards everyone around her.
Mum somehow managed to always bounce back and so her recent sudden decline in health has been so hard for us to accept. She was the most wonderful mum and we are so grateful for the time that we had her in our lives. Our mum has left behind an enormous legacy and we will try our very best to make her proud in everything we do.
We cannot thank the staff at the Hospice in the Weald enough for the care that they provided our mum in the final stages of her life. Her strong Christian faith enabled her to pass away with great peace and the hospice staff ensured that her dignity remained intact throughout. This wonderful hospice will hold our hearts forever and we hope that you will enable us to raise a generous sum of money for an incredible facility and community.
We thank you also for the support and love that has surrounded our family for the past seven years. Our mum's huge network of friends and family have humbled us with the love and care that they have shown towards us as a family. We cannot thank you enough.
