Story

Hi, I'm Scott,

I'm 29 years old and I've had Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia for the past 9 years. In October 2016, I am heading out to Yosemite National Park, in California, with my girlfriend Jo, to attempt to climb El Capitan - a 1km high, sheer cliff face.

It's not the type of thing you do every day, but it's been a dream of mine ever since I started climbing.

A few months ago, I changed medication, moving from Imatinib, to Nilotinib, of which I take 800mg daily. Some of you may already know, but the side effects from the toxins, can really take a toll on the body - having to commonly deal with fatigue, fever, tiredness, muscle pains, headaches, rash, water retention and sensitivity.

It's made training for this really difficult and it hasn't been going according to plan (but nothing ever does - Just have to keep trying!)

Jo will be bringing her camera along, as we are looking to capture the events and produce a short film of the journey, with the hopes to educate, encourage and inspire others, to stand up for a passion and follow their dreams.

All money raised will go towards supporting those with cancer and their loved ones, as well as research to improve and develop new treatments for patients.

Please help us raise money equally among our campaigns.
