About Sandy

On 30th September 2013, Sandra Cleveland lost her intense battle with cancer, leaving behind an 11 year old daughter (my sister), a loving partner, father & family.

Sandy will be remembered for her uplifting and positive attitude, and for being a kind, considerate person who would always put other people first - with only days left she was making sure her Birthday and Christmas cards were written and ready to be sent to her family and friends.

What is Selfies for Sandy?

With this in mind, I wanted to honour Sandy's memory whilst giving something back to the people who looked after her, provided support for my family and who continue to care for people and families who are affected by cancer - Somersham Ward Support Group at Ipswich Hospital.

For a number of reasons that seem quite fitting, I've decided not to cut my hair or shave my beard between 1st January 2014 and 5th April 2014.

Then on the 5th April it will all be coming off!

For the month and a half leading up to the big shave, I'll be taking "selfies" to track progress and promote my fundraising effort - you can view the gallery here: Selfies for Sandy

If you'd like to suggest a theme for a "selfie" or make a donation then you can do so via this JustGiving page.

I really appreciate you taking the time to visit this site, and on behalf of all those affected by cancer - many thanks.
