Paul has completed many challenges over the years for various charities including McMillan. But this year is his biggest challenge so far he’ll be competing in twelve sporting events all over the country, starting at the Nuffield Gym on Wednesday 29 February . His wife Sharon will be partaking in the challenges from this point on and the hope is to raise money for an incredible local charity. The challenges will culminate on October 13 when they will compete in the survival of the fittest on the banks of the river Trent having then completed 12 challenges in 2012.
This is in Memory of Theresa Brabson who sadly died of Lung Cancer on 17 September 2011, Theresa was diagnosed in August 2011 and sadly passed away at home just a few weeks after. With the help of the Home Care team at Nottingham hospice, Jackie, her daughter was able to care for her with palliative care at home in her last few days. Nottingham Hospice helped the family with care immediately when Theresa was discharged from hospital.
Jackie says that she did not know how she would of coped without the support and help of Nottingham Hospice,. Her Mum loved the Nurses who sat with her and not only provided her with physical and emotional support but also the family, sadly it was only for a few days but the support from Nottingham Hospice was incredible.
This is why Paul and Sharon are doing these challenges for Nottinghamshire Hospice this year, to support and raise money for a very worthwhile Charity. 04/03/12 Two challenges now complete, a days rest then back training again ready for the Clumber Park Duathlon.
