Story
25/10/14
As I'm sure you all know, my precious Shelley passed away last Sunday, the day after her 47th birthday.
In her short life she shone like no other person I've ever known, and inspired affection, love and loyalty in a huge number of genuine friends. She was truly inspirational.
I will leave this page open and active, as I'm sure there are many people who will want to continue to donate, to carry on the urgent fight against this cruel disease that took her from us so unfairly.
Much love to you all
Darren
Hi everyone.
Good luck to you lovely lot who are running the Reading Half Marathon tomorrow. You have trained so hard and will be fabulous tomorrow. Thank you so much for supporting this page. Good luck and lots of love. xx Shell
WE DID IT!
The Shiny Happy Autumn Ball was a huge, epic, gorgeous success and you are all amazing, generous, lovely friends.
We have raised over £16,000 at this event and we are still collecting money from even more friends who want to support Ovarian Cancer Action in their work.
Enormous thanks go to Liz, Caroline, Fiona, Julia, Karen, Sharan, Glen and the London Essentials, Nick, Carl and Neil and of course, Darren. The Windsor and Maidenhead Rock Choir, the staff at the Crowne Plaza Marlow, Paul at EVP photography and anyone else who gave their time and energy to our cause.
See you soon for the next event. Huge love to all. xxx
Thank you to everyone who joined us to make the Harlem Shake video on Sunday. We had such a laugh and raised £157 for this page!! We will show the video as part of the Shiny Happy entertainment along side the many photos of you all fundraising with me over the last two and a half years. Special thanks to my Tommy and Molly, Big Molly and Niamh, Jacob and Finlay and Jobi and Martina who all gave their time and energy (not to mention their finger knitting skills) to this event. You are all EPIC! xxxx
Thanks to all of you for walking, jumping out of aeroplanes, running, slimming, singing, partying, sponsoring and generally being 'up for it', together we have raised over £20,000 for Cancer Research/Ovarian Cancer Action in my fundraising year. I am thrilled with the total! So 2013 needs to be bigger and better. This year we are hosting a Shiny Happy Autumn Ball: raising funds for 0varian Cancer Action - a charity committed to joined up thinking between the many trusts, trials, hospitals and research centres who are working hard to stand up to ovarian cancer. We will also continue to support Cancer Research UK in all of their fabulous work. There is much to do and loads to enjoy. I have some fab ideas and hope to get us all together very soon. Much love, Shelley xx
Coffe Morning
Thanks for your support. We had a lovely morning eating cake and catching up with old friends. £421 raised for the Ovarian Cancer Support Group, founded by the much missed Gill Thompson. xx
Sun 2nd June.
Thanks to the amazing team who walked and ran the course with me. Your fabulous energy got everyone back over the line safely - even Grandma and you kids rocked. Niamh cartwheeled round the course and my Molly stormed over the finish line. Over £1000 raised. See you there again next year!

Dozens of you sponsored our team of Shiny Happy People. You are all amazing! Thank you so much. xxxxx Shell

CAT'S HAIR
Wow! My friend Cat shaved her head, cut off her fab orange hair, in order to raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer and to raise loads of money for Cancer Research. A very gutsy thing to do, i'm sure you will agree. Cat has to date raised more than £1600 and the figure is sure to rise. If you feel inspired by Cat's astonishingly selfless act, please donate to her page (follow the 'Shiny Happy People' link at the bottom of this page). Cat you look amazing and i am so proud of you. Thank you honey and thanks to all those who have already given so generously. xxx
COFFEE AND CAKE
The coffee morning in Dec was a huge success, raising an astonishing £350 for Cancer Research. You fabulous women bought loads of lovely xmas jewels and chatted the morning away. The cakes were gorgeous and Darren has fallen in love with Megan's muffins!!! (It was bound to happen)
