Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am about to take on the challenge of the Great North Run and will be raising money for MASKS, (Make A Special Kid Smile) which is the charity for The Vale Federation of Special Schools in Aylesbury. I will be supporting the Federation’s School Dog project which is a collaborative scheme with leading assistance dog charity Dogs for Good. The pilot project has seen the introduction of a Labrador cross Golden Retriever called Patience to Stocklake Park School. Students as Stocklake have severe learning difficulties, or profound and multiple learning difficulties, or moderate difficulties with other complex needs.
Using Animal Assisted Intervention techniques the School Dog project aims to explore how a dog can bring benefit to students by supporting their learning, social, physical and emotional development in classroom activities or as part of therapeutic sessions.
For more information on the project please visit the school website at www.stocklakepark.com
