Story
I haven't had the best of luck with bikes.
Since being in London I've had two bikes stolen, and a third that the brake cables were stolen from (surely a crime that benefits no-one).
I also am in terrible shape and have no physical stamina whatsoever.
Which is why it seemed like a good idea to do a 300 mile bike ride from London to Paris next July.
Recently through my work, I came into contact with some of JustGiving's most inspirational fundraisers - people who had climbed mountains, completed iron-man challenges, and all around achieved absolutely amazing things. And I thought hey, if they can do that, then maybe I can do a little something too. But first I needed to buy a bike.
So today, 1 October 2015, I bought a lovely new bike (as seen in my dashing profile picture above) and on 20 July 2016 I will be cycling from London, through the lovely English countryside, getting on the ferry from Dover to Calais, then back on the bike along quiet French country lanes, traditional market towns and passing the rolling green hills of northern France.
I fully expect that I'm going to do a terrible job of this. And I fully hope that you'll want to donate some money to watch me do that.
I'm raising money for Barnsley Hospice, to help the clinicians to give the best possible palliative care to their patients.
Please do donate as much as you possibly can, and share the page with your friends and family. Keep checking here as I'll try and do updates to let you know how awfully my training is going over the next few months.
Thanks for reading!
