just when you thought my company couldn't get any more tedious - i've decided to not drink alcohol for 6 months in order to raise as much money as possible for Solace Women's Aid. 

Solace Women's Aid is a London based charity that helps around 10,000 victims of sexual and domestic violence per year, providing refuge, legal advice and counselling to help women and children rebuild their lives. In 2014 there was a 29% increase in the number of recorded rapes in England and Wales - reported rapes are now at the highest ever level. Every week in the UK on average 2 women are killed by a partner or ex partner. Every minute a report of domestic violence is made to police. 

The issues of both sexual and domestic violence are important to me for a multitude of reasons. My experiences left me feeling hopeless and vulnerable, without knowing where to turn. One of the main reasons I want to help this charity is because i feel there needs to be far, FAR greater awareness about where you can turn in the aftermath of a horrific event. Luckily for me I have great friends + fam who have helped me out an unbelievable amount, however lots of women are not so lucky. 

By donating you can help save lives - awareness will lead to greater reporting and intervention in potentially fatal situations as well as meaning women and children will not have to feel so alone. The fourteen places of refuge run by SWA also need consistent help to remain open.
