Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am currently undertaking a PhD in brain tumours in order to improve treatment of this devastating disease. Brain tumours are seen as the 'forgotten' cancer and receive only 0.7% of the National Cancer Research funds. Because of this lack of funding, research in this area is over 25 years behind that of other cancer types. As 20-40% of all cancers spread to the brain, this area is in desperate need of research and with your help we can help improve this situation!
The PPR Foundation is a local charity based in Harrogate. Its mission is simple: to ask 1 million people to donate £1. The charity has pledged that 100% of all the money raised will go towards brain tumour research.
I will be doing a number of activities to fundraise including the coast to coast bike ride, landmark hopping, knitting, baking and loads more throughout 2016! I will be creating videos and slideshows of these events to raise awareness (links to follow) and anything else I can think of! Please share my page and anything I post. Let's raise awareness together and get more funding for research in this awful disease.
Thank you so much for your help. #CloserToACure
