Story
In June of this year three leaders from Long Buckby Scout Group; Craig Morran, Adam Webb and Jim Hocking will be embarking on a challenge to cycle the length of the river Rhine, 863 miles (1,386 kilometers) from its source in the Swiss Alps to the point where the river Rhine meets the sea in Holland. The river passes through six countries - Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, France, Germany and Holland.
We thought it would be a good idea to try and raise some money for a worthy cause and we are delighted to be cycling to support a local charity based in Warwickshire ‘Molly Olly’s Wishes’ (Registered Charity Number 1145312). www.mollyolly.co.uk
The charity aims to support emotionally and financially where appropriate the lives of children with terminal or life threatening illnesses throughout the Midlands and United Kingdom and to advise
and assist their families.
The money we are looking to raise will help support children and families who need assistance beyond that given by the NHS and its supporting organisations.
We hope you will wish to make a contribution to this very worthwhile cause. The charity was established by Rachel and Tim Ollershaw who tragically lost their daughter Molly to a rare type of kidney cancer on 15th June 2011.
There is total transparency as to where your money is spent, on the basis that Rachel, Tim and a small team of enthusiastic workers liaise directly with children and families to help fulfill their wishes – from specialist equipment, alternative therapy treatments or even organising a special occasion for a child that would otherwise be isolated from every day events due to the restrictions of their illness. Sometimes it
can be the simplest of gifts such as a Christmas Tree and decorations that can leave a child and their family with everlasting fond memories.
Please ‘dig deep’
With
best wishes
Craig, Adam & Jim
