Story
Team ‘Easier said than run’ are taking on a World first – a non-stop relay race from the Source of the River Thames to the Sea in London. The challenge will start at the Source of the Thames near Cirencester in Gloucestershire on the morning of Saturday the 25th June. It will then wind its way along the Thames Path through the day and night, finishing on Sunday 26th June at the Thames Barrier in Greenwich. In order to remain safe each team must run two runners simultaneously through the night, whilst everyone must run the first and the last miles of the challenge. In total that means that each team must run c. 237 miles (an average of 33 miles per person)!! Runners can tag each other in and out as often as they like, and each team will carry a GPS beacon so friends, family and other team members can track their progress.
The race will be run by two teams competing to be the first people to complete this epic feat, and in the process raise money for charity. Team ‘Easier said than run’ are raising money for Landaid whilst Team ‘Go with the flow’ are raising money for Prostate Cancer UK and can be sponsored here https://www.justgiving.com/sourcetoseaevent.
The event is being sponsored by C2 Capital, so please rest assured that all proceeds will be going directly to charity.
Team ‘Easier said than run’ comprises of Louis Randall (Buckingham Palace), Oliver Rippier (Helical Bar), Steven Archer (Farm Street Capital), Chris Ramsden (BNP Paribas), Rohan Vince (Byron Burgers), Tim Charters (Civil Service) and Andy Pointon (Allsop).
