Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please read the rest of this but the basics are that I am looking for 210 people to sponsor me £10 each. If you can't afford this, I will be grateful for anything you can spare.

Most of you will know that I had cancer 5 years ago. About 2 years after my diagnosis, I went away for my Odyssey week. Wow! Amazing experience which I can say properly changed my life. I now do some volunteering with them and to watch the participants come in, all looking anxious about what the week will bring, is such a delight. I know they're going to have an incredible time, but at that point they don't. To watch these people shake off their fears as the week goes by, is, quite frankly, a privilege and reminds me every time of my own experience and of why I do this.

Of course, with Odyssey being a small charity, we rely a huge amount on the generosity of the people who will donate money to us. This year the challange is on. We are going to be canoeing for 5/6 days in Sweden. This time though, we are unsupported and will be repsonsible for moving all our kit, food and camping gear ourselves. We are aiming to do a total of 90km over this time, about 50km on a lake and then another 40km down a river.

To say I am nervous is an understatement. This really will be basic and there will be nothing glamorous about it. I know I am always asking for money, but I really believe in this charity and want to be able to allow other people to experience what I have experienced.
