Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Springboard Opportunity Group.

We have chosen Springboard because my son Robin has Downs Syndrome and has been going to Springboard since he was 1 year old.

Without Springboards support and amazing team I do not know how we and Robin would have coped, they have taught him to communicate through makaton sign language, and he has learnt to play with others (all be it on his terms).

Not only do they support any child with special needs but also the whole family from a simple shoulder to cry on to advice of money, schools and other services available to the family and child.

We will ride 130 miles on the 11th July 2015 in 12 hrs or less.

Springboard's aim is to support children with additional needs from birth to 5 years and their families, in North Somerset. Started by a small group of local parents in 1986 who desperately needed help with their very young children. They have continued to put children and families first and think it is essential to respond to their needs.

Providing specialist support, often on a one-to-one basis, is costly. They need to raise over £1000 a day in order to maintain all services. As a charity, they rely on the generosity of individual supporters, charitable trusts and fundraising.
