We provide a peer-to-peer support network to help anyone widowed aged 50 or under
Story
In 2005 my partner (of 14 years) died in a motorbike accident 18 days before I gave birth to our daughter. We weren't married, I got no government help and wasn't even allowed to register him as the father of our child.
I joined WAY a couple of years ago (though wish I had a lot sooner) and the people who are part of the group have welcomed me and comforted me on many occasions. I would like more people who are widowed young to find WAY and the support it offers, and so as well as raising funds, I hope to also raise awareness.
My relay team are the Sea Witches and my nickname is Stitch Witch (because I crochet!). We are 6 lovely ladies who share a passion for the water and will be training hard to reach our goal of swimming from England to France. Please help support WAY and make all the effort worthwhile :)
