Story
On Easter Saturday this year, Stuart and Sam will set off in a K2 kayak from Devizes in Wiltshire and hopefully end up at the steps of Westminster 125miles later, having paddled non-stop for around 30 hours.
The Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race starts in Devizes, Wiltshire and finishes just downstream of Westminster Bridge in London, opposite the Houses of Parliament. It is the longest non-stop canoe race in the WORLD! The race has been held annually over the Easter Weekend since 1948, with only 60% of competitors finishing the race.
The race is 125 miles long and has 77 portages. The first 52 miles are along the Kennet and Avon Canal, the next 55 miles are on the River Thames and the final section is on the tidal portion of the Thames.
Stuart and Sam are appealing to all you good natured people out there to sponsor them as they would like to raise as much money as possible for their charities. We have chosen to raise money for Fetal Medicine Foundation. We would be very grateful for any donations.
