Story

The Stuart Calder Fund is being created through donations made in memory of Stuart Calder, a much loved and well-respected orthopedic surgeon from Leeds, who tragically drowned while assisting others in Cornwall on October 26, 2014.

Stuart’s family have chosen to support two areas, both of which will be administered by the Leeds Community Foundation:

·          The Zikomo Trust a Leeds based charity, which provides grants for education, and funds for local Malawian organisations whose aim is the relief or prevention of poverty. Stuart’s children, through their schools, have been actively involved with the Trust, and have visited Malawi to help with the fantastic work that it does there.

·         Leeds Community Foundation - the city's largest independent grant-maker, which provides grants to Leeds based community projects that tackle key city issues and support local people.
