Why.....

Matt Spradbury is an extremely professional, conscientious and incredibly hard working police officer from Leicester. He has been diagnosed with Motor Nueron Disease but continues to work everyday, being an inspiration to all that come into contact with him. The wonderful TrebleOneTrust was established by another Police officer Stewart Sparling who recently passed away following a courageous fight against the illness. The trust provides support to people like Matt in the challenges they will face.

The money will be spent on any improvements required to assist Matt and his family to overcome the challenges he will face. This will include improvements to their home address, required equipment and other items to assist with his mobility.

I have always enjoyed long distance hiking and have wanted to trek to Base Camp of Everest for a long time. The opportunity to complete this challenge presented itself to me in November, 2015.I had a fantastic trip and successfully made it to Everest Base Camp on the 19th November 2015.

The stepathon will aim to achieve 58,000 steps the equivalent height of the summit of Everest in Jan 2016.
