This year Southampton University Boat Club (SUBC) have chosen the Elton John Aids Foundation aimed at preventing AIDs and stopping stigma against gay and lesbian (LGBT)communities. 

What are we doing?
Next Tuesday the 3rd of November we will be challenging ourselves to row the length of the river Thames (346km) in 8.5 hours. We'll be on the redbrick (outside Stags / SUSU shop / The Bridge) with three ergs and a number of people collecting. We'll have our big marquee up playing music and will be there the whole day from 9 until 5:30, so if you're on campus please stop by and donate! 

Some quick maths for the row: 

346km divided by our 3 ergs = 115.3km per erg

115.3 divided by 17 half an hour slots (9-5.30) = 6.784km per person (2:12.6 split)

Holding this for the whole day with members from our all of our squads (Novices and Seniors) will be challenging!
