Thank you for visiting the Sunshine Smile Appeal justgiving page. We are delighted to announce that work on our new Forget Me Not and family room is now complete. This is all thanks to the fantastic work and support of The Smile Foundation, in partnership with the Hull & East Yorkshire Business Community.

Sunshine House still desperately needs your help in spreading the word for this essential facility offering palliative and terminal care and support to families in our area.

The service is managed by the City Health Care Partnership. They provide the unit with everything the children and staff need from a medical perspective, however every parent knows what a child ‘needs’ and what a child ‘wants’ are two entirely different things.

Charitable donations raised by staff and friends of Sunshine House will to be used to refurbish the sensory equipment, and to ensure children have a happy, positive and stimulating short break. It will also fund a variety of other much needed projects similar to the forget me not and family room, such as additional children's rooms in the building, the cinema room, the garden and other items that the NHS are unable to provide. One of the patients said, “It’s the most wonderful place on earth”, and this is echoed by the staff on their belief, “there are no tragedies at sunshine house, only stories waiting to be written”.

Our target is to raise £140,000 in funding and gifts in kind and we are delighted to announce that to date we have generated in excess of £90,000. Thank you for your time in reading this and we hope you are able to help in any way large or small!
