Christmas Chairty Fayre , 7 December 2016

Story

As the start of our fundraising journey we will be holding a Christmas charity event on 7th December including home made crafts, jewellery, cake sale and girly pampering.

You might think, as you read this, why are we doing this? Our reason is about an amazing lady who is very close to our hearts called Marjorie of 80 ish yrs who was diagnosed with Cancer in 2012 and courageously undertook surgery to remove a bowel tumour. Marjorie was diagnosed with secondary bowel cancer to the lungs and endured radiotherapy in January 2013 which is when she came into the care of the great supportive team of BHOC. If all that was'nt enough to contend with, in June 2013, scans confirmed further spread to the liver and subsequently Marjorie has been receiving chemotherapy ever since. This has taken its toll at times, but Marjorie's boundless high spirits, cheery smile, immense determination and fighting spirit and the strength for the unknown is true testiment for a remarkable Mum and Nan.

We are all truly grateful for the added and precious time with such an amazing and inspiring lady which may not have been possible but for surgery and continued care and support from the clinical team at BHOC.

Help us to give something back to all those who care and support patients and families affected by cancer.
