Story
Sands the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity are divided into a nationwide network of local support groups run by bereaved parents to support anyone affected by the loss of a baby. This page is to raise funds specifically for Surrey Sands. We primarily support those who have lost babies at Epsom, St Helier, Croydon University (Mayday), Kingston, Royal Surrey, East Surrey and St Peters hospitals or live within Surrey and surrounding borders.
The impact of babyloss is underestimated by anyone who has never endured it. For this reason our aim is to offer the empathic support that most bereaved parents find invaluable. Our General Fund provides our support services including one to one support via trained befrienders, helpline, support groups, newsletters, website and events. We also run a Hospital Support Project Fund to provide homely hospital bereavement suites and our Precious Memories Project Fund provides items to help parents create memories during this precious time together as a family. Our Training Fund enables us to provide training to healthcare professionals likely to come into contact with parents at any point during the pregnancy or after their loss.
The work of the group is totally self funded and carried out by volunteers. Membership of Surrey Sands is free on a self referral basis. We are always grateful for donations which are used to fund our work and we thank you for considering our charity worthy of your donation.
If you wish to do your own fundraising challenge please email surrey.sands@btinternet.com to discuss a suitable project for you to raise funds towards, and to help you set up your own Just Giving page.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Sands will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you. Gift Aid is retained by National Sands towards vital research projects.
Many thanks for your support.
Kind regards
