Story

On Sunday September 25th, a group of us will walk 31.8 miles, from the source of the Itchen at Hinton Ampner, to Sholing on Southampton Water,  in an attempt to raise £1,000 for the Southampton and Winchester Visitor's Group.

There will be two more walks on the day:

Winchester to Sholing - 17 miles

Eastleigh to Sholing - 11 miles

The SWVG is a small local charity that offers practical and advisory help to refugees, many who have arrived in the UK from war-ravaged countries and have nowhere else to turn.

All of the money raised in this, our biggest fundraising event of the year, goes DIRECTLY to supporting people of all creeds, colours and ages in desperate, real-time need. No administrative costs, your money goes straight to the front line, and will immediately HELP SOMEBODY, either with food or accommodation or legal advice. We get to intimately know each and every one of our clients, these are real people in real need, and contrary to scaremongering newspaper reports, receive zero government funding or 'handouts'.

We are so deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity of your sponsorship THANK YOU.
