Story
WHO we are
Ukrainian charity fund "Tabletochki" - an international charity fund protecting interests of children suffering from oncohematological diseases (blood cancer) in Ukraine. It was founded by volunteers in 2011.
Our partner “Lifeline” helps us fundraise abroad.
WHAT we do and WHY we need your help
In countries such as the USA, where modern treatment methods are available, 94% of childhood leukemia cases are cured. In Ukraine, this number is less than 50%. Hundreds of children die annually in Ukraine who could be saved with modern treatment. To guarantee successful treatment, a continuous supply of modern medicines is required. Unfortunately, the Government provides only half of the drugs needed for leukemia treatment.
Our purpose is to raise funds to cover the cost of treatment for children with blood cancer in two ways:
- Covering the cost of bone marrow transplant surgeries from an unrelated donor. These surgeries are not performed in Ukraine.
- Purchasing the necessary medicines that are not sold in Ukraine or not purchased by the government.
Currently, we are fundraising to cover the cost of bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor – a surgery that is not performed in Ukraine. The cost of one surgery performed in Italy is between 115 000 euro and 150 000 euro.
At the moment we are focusing on raising money for two kids in need of urgent treatment:

Diagnosis: myelodysplastic syndrome, reduced cellularity form
Surgery to be performed in: University Hospital in Pisa, Italy
Total cost: €120 000
Already raised: €90 000
Still to go: €30 000
Arsenii Bakun, age 2, from Kyiv region
