Story
The reason why I am trying to raise money is because my family and I have been through a tough year.
In 2015 my brave Nanna was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a terminal cancer that developed whilst she was being treated for breast cancer. The Velindre cancer centre provided her with overwhelming care and support through her various, intensive treatments and the brilliant nurses became a part of our family. Sadly, my nan lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully in February 2016.
Unfortunately, the story does not end there for us. On Monday 22/02/16, my father, a policeman, 10x IRONMAN triathlete and best friend Michael David Evans was diagnosed with a terminal malignant brain tumour at the age of 48. The cancer is at stage 4 and we are unsure how long we have left to find a cure. The longest living man with this type of tumour is on his sixth year.
Following complicated surgery attempting to remove most of the tumour from his brain, he is now receiving treatment including chemotherapy and radiotherapy at Velindre. I am confident that they will take as great care of him as they did his beautiful mother and my Nanna.
We as a family feel strongly that we would like to give something back to the charity who have provided us with support beyond what we ever imagined they could.

Update 18/05/16 - You can read more about Dad http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/last-year-policeman-ironman-now-11343519
Update 22/05/16 - Dad completed, with amazing Team support, the Porthcawl Olympic Triathlon 1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run.
Update 8-10 July - Dad (aka Chemokid) is facing his next and by far toughest CHALLENGE... midway through his first concentrated 6 month cycle of chemo to raise a load of money and raise awareness if possible for Brain Tumour Research. Your support will be crucial. Dad will be swimming 2.5 miles North Beach Tenby on Friday, then cycling 112 miles around Pembrokeshire on Saturday before running a marathon (26 miles) on Sunday. 140.6 miles over three days - the LONG COURSE Weekend, Tenby... Discipline by discipline in one piece is the plan. "I humbly ask that you consider a pledge of 15p per mile completed during the weekend. Those who have done it know how hard it is. Regardless of what I'm going through."
Thank you. Your support is so greatly appreciated and means so much to our family.
