Story
TeamOrangeSki are an Alpine Ski Race team for the visually impaired within British Parasnowsport (formerly the British Disabled Ski Team)
It constitutes V.I. Michael Kear, and Rufus Alcott.
TeamOrangeSki were invited to join the British Parasnowsport development squad in November 2015. We have been continuously training to increase our International Paralympic Committee (IPCAS) ranking in order to qualify for the Europa Cup series during the upcoming season.
The ultimate goal of the team is to represent Great Britain at a Winter Games......Pyeongchang 2018 might be too soon but we will never say never!!!
Skiing is a highly demanding and competitive sport especially for the Visually Impaired. It demands a huge amount of energy, commitment and most of all trust between the two team members.
It should also be stressed that due to the nature of the guide-racer team, almost all costs are double that of any other racing.
To continue their journey and fulfil their potential and dreams, Mike and Rufus need your help. Almost everything that Teamorangeski does is self-funded save for the very generous help that we receive from DSUK including GIFT AID.
To give an idea of costs, we require c£25,000 each season in order to compete.....therefore and donation received will be greatly appreciated by the team and will go towards funding travel, accommodation, equipment as well as training and race fees for both athletes. (full breakdown available)
