Story
Since its take-off in 2008, Cabin Pressure (BBC Radio 4) has made us laugh, cry, smile, and swell with great emotion. Together with the cabin crew of MJN Air, we have traveled the world, chased down polar bears, sought lemons and yellow cars, and experienced a 500% increase in the use of the word "brilliant" in our everyday vocabulary.
It has also become a force that has united people from all over the world while becoming an incentive for us to do online projects together and raise money for charity.
With the MJN flight crew's final descent approaching, the Thank You Cabin Pressure Project wants to send an extra something along with the fandot video to honour the work of the cast and crew involved with the making of our beloved radio series.
John Finnemore is a man of many talents, as evidenced by his portrayal of Arthur Shappey and his ability to write such wonderful comedy (which, when performed by the likes of Roger, Stephanie, and Benedict and guest actors, you have brilliant results). Putting one's work forward requires skill, practice, and confidence - and ultimately, literacy skills. However, with 1 in 6 people in the UK living with poor literacy skills, there is a portion of the population that cannot put forward their work of any sort, thus holding them back from achieving their greatest potential.
As a thank you and way to commemorate the finale of a BRILLIANT series, we are choosing to fundraise for The National Literacy Fund because it is important that everyone - whether young or old - has the confidence to read, write, and speak their ideas and passions.
