Story
I’ve been on a personal journey to lose weight since my doctor finally made me realise that continuing at the weight I was would result in early death. I’m a happy go lucky guy, but the thought of not being around for my children and seeing them grow up was more than enough motivation to change my life.
I intend to be around for my kids for a long time, but children in the Dundee area are often not so lucky. Help for Kids is a local charity that “aim to make the lives of sick and disadvantaged children in Dundee better, safer and happier“. I figured that I could do some good for them whilst doing some good for myself and family.
In April 2010 I weighed myself and the scales showed I had reached 28st 1lb (393lbs for you Americans or 178kg for anyone born in the 90s). I’m 6’ 4” so I carried it well and people never really knew how bad things were getting. Since then I’ve been on a mission to bring myself down to 16st (224lbs/101kg) a loss of over 12 stone. To put it all in context I’ve been carrying around an extra person on my back for years and it’s time I lost that person!
So all I ask is that you give a donation to my chosen charity, Help for Kids, to show your support and I’ll keep on doing my absolute best. Thank you in advance!
