Story
The funds raised for The Bridge have delivered improvements to the school and its facilities including new playground and outdoor classroom materials.
This year’s concert aims to raise £5,000 for specialist equipment to develop a much needed sensory room in our secondary site. This is a very special space which focusses on particular senses such as feel, vision, sound, smell and taste, in which the children can completely relax, or interact with and control all the elements. This happens in numerous combinations, through sound and visual effects, tactile experiences, platform swings, vibration, use of aromas and music.
A Sensory Garden would open up new ways of learning for all of our children, enhancing and invigorating their lives and engage their senses.
From the understanding of plant growth to experiencing the vibrant textures, smells, sounds and visual stimuli that cannot be replicated in a classroom.
Sensory gardens would provide intimate spaces where they can be immersed in the scents, textures and colours of plants. Along with specially selected plants, the sensory gardens include elements such as wind chimes, wind socks, flags, and our children’s art. Following the Sensory Pathways they will experience the sound and feel of running water, wind and rustling foliage.
Our students will have a new way to enhance their individual learning and development.
Together, with your help we can give the children of The Bridge London a sensory garden.
