I first became involved with HHHVC in the early 1970's and served on the committee for several years. I had young children then and organised a Parent and Children Group. I became a Trustee and served as Deputy Chair and Chair for a number of years in more recent times. 

Hampton & Hampton Hill Voluntary Care has always been close to my heart and I have been a volunter in different ways for all of that time doing driving and many other things.

We have now been helping local people for over 35 years and since moving to The Greenwood Centre 20 years ago we have been able to do much more. 

Our work is open to people of all ages who may for many reasons find themselves isolated and lonely. Trained volunteers befriend someone needing our help and through friendship help to reduce their isolation by drawing them into the community. Other things we do include our bus service to local supermarkets five times a week and also taking groups to places of local interest. Our private car drivers, all volunteers, take people to hospitals, doctors and other essential visits that cannot be made by public transport or other services. It is a wonderfully succesful charity helping over 600 local people each year with some 200 volunteers but it does need your help.

I now want to help in a different way which is finance. Like all charities we are always trying to make ends meet although we do get great support from Hampton Fuel Allotment Charity.
